Re: Guild Get-together
Dur,
Can you add me to the list for the Guild get together at the British Museum in London on the 6th. I wasn't sure if I could make it until today, but the afternoon of the 6th looks clear now.
Regards,
Markt (aka Kilthan)

Re: Guild Get-together
Hi,
Just looking into some of the details a bit more
* British Museum - not sure if we want to stop there a bit, or just use it as a meeting point and head off from there?
* River walk - If people are ok with a couple of miles walking, we can get the tube from Tottenham Court Road to Embankment and then follow the route along the river e.g. http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=3517758
* Tower of London. Tower tickets appear to be in the region of £15-17 and last admission is at 16:00. Are people ok paying that? If we are then I suggest don't explore Museum, but head straight for Tower and be there by 14:00. If not we can focus on the Museum which is free I think.
* That's as far as I've got for now...
Cheers
Dur

Wow - it was really nice to meet you all, and I hope everyone got/gets home safely. Or are you all still in that pub?

ER... Have you gotten out of that pub yet? Just as well I wasn't there as I have the alcohol capacity of a lettuce.

Back out of the pub now.
And I have to say I thought that was a great day - really enjoyed meeting you all!
Same again next year? (but perhaps on the continent?)
Cheers

Great day, hopefully to be repeated late in the year, and to echo Dur's words, possibly on the continent. Belgium chocs for her indoors for Xmas? Points winner.

Re: Guild Get-together
Hi All,
Good to hear that you all had a great day. Were you all like your toons? Did you pursuade Jai to come back to wow? We still miss him in green I think
For a new guild meeting, can I put Amsterdam up there next to Brussels? Id rather go to Amsterdam for a long weekend than to Brussels.
And then just a wayhay and yeehaa for all the great raid evenings we have had lately, its such a pleasure and yes I shall write it in the appropriate place too.
Love
Arv

Re: Guild Get-together
Thanks to everyone who got together in London. I thought right up until 12:20 I wasn't going to be able to make it, but Mrs Jai very kindly agreed as soon as I'd finished my chores
(I also have two more boozy football related weekends coming up this month)
It was good to meet back up with the people I'd met before, and just as good to meet the ones I hadn't. I enjoyed the long walk around the British Museum - it's been a few years since I was last in there. It did make me quite thirsty, however and I was glad of the rest and refreshment crowded around that remarkably small table in the Marquis of Granby.
I was only about an hour late meeting Mrs Jai at her niece's birthday party in East London, later as well. So all was good.
It wasn't the same without Arv there
Hopefully next time. Although I reckon I could get away with asking Mrs Jai about going on a trip to Brussels but not to Amsterdam.

Hi Jai,
Does this have something to do with colour? Oh well, I will accept Brussels if you can be allowed to go there

Yes Jai, Sherman says your hobbies prevent you from going astray, even in colour districts.

Hi All,
Does this mean then, that, if we avoid windowshopping and visits to coffee houses, we can still go to Amdam? Jai? And, I was wondering; if ppl are colour blind can they still see the red light?

Unfortunately - depending on when it is, I think time and finances may be a bit tight this year. Mrs. Jai is planning another family trip to SE Asia later on in the year.
